You may need extra space to walk around the space so be sure that you measure from behind the beveled edge to the wall behind it. This extra space will be necessary for the edges of the beveled tile to lay against. Don't forget to measure for beveled edges at the joints where the beveled tile and other tiles will be connected.

Once the beveled tile has been purchased and attached it to the tiling surface with the right kind of adhesive, the beveled tiles will be ready for installation. Marking the location on the wall where the beveled tile will be located with pencils or a dry erase board is essential. It will be hard to make any mistakes once the tile is installed. To help keep track of where each tile goes simply string the beveled subway tiles. Make sure to allow an even spacing between them. Applying spacers between tiles will help avoid gaps between them.
When installing beveled subway tile in a new building, it will be important to remove all preexisting covering such as ceiling insulation before laying down the beveled tile. The tile should be laid on a plywood subfloor that has been scoured and sealed. Laying down a plywood underlayment will also be helpful in not only helping the tile adhere to the sub floor but in also preventing water from penetrating the tile. If moisture is penetrating the beveled tile it will cause the tile to expand which will cause it to crack. Also be sure to clean any area on the sub floor that may be dripping or leaking.
Another simple way to install beveled white subway tile is with interlocking vinyl mastic. Each piece of the beveled tile is securely pressed into place with the help of interlocking vinyl mastic. When installing the beveled tile and using the vinyl mastic be sure to have all edges overlap by about half an inch. This will give the beveled tiles a nice neat professional look. Once installed the mastic will need to be scraped off so that you do not get any left over sharp edges.
